Do Fuel Boosters Help Gas Mileage?
A fuel octane booster or, fuel booster, is a liquid additive that you add to your fuel tank that increases the octane of the gasoline or diesel fuel. What this means is that by adding a fuel booster, your fuel becomes more stable and is "boosted" in order to improve the fuel and engine performance.

Do Fuel Boosters Actually Improve Gas Mileage?
Yes, quality fuel boosters can improve gas mileage - typically by 5-15% depending on your vehicle and driving conditions. Here's how they work:
How Fuel Boosters Improve MPG
- Better Combustion: Higher octane fuel burns more completely, extracting more energy from each drop
- Cleaner Fuel System: Removes deposits from injectors and valves that reduce efficiency
- Reduced Engine Knock: Allows optimal ignition timing for maximum efficiency
- Lower Friction: Premium additives reduce internal engine friction
Real-World Fuel Economy Results
The actual mileage improvement you'll see depends on several factors:
Best Results When:
- Your fuel system has carbon buildup (older vehicles)
- You're using lower-quality pump gas
- Your engine is designed for higher octane fuel
- You drive in stop-and-go traffic or tow heavy loads
🚛 For Diesel Engines
Diesel fuel treatments can deliver even more dramatic results. Our Diesel Xcelerator™ improves cetane rating, cleans injectors, and can boost fuel economy by up to 15%.
Choosing the Right Fuel Booster for MPG
Not all fuel boosters are created equal. Look for products that:
- Include detergents to clean your fuel system
- Contain friction modifiers for reduced engine resistance
- Improve cetane (diesel) or octane (gasoline) ratings
- Are compatible with modern fuel systems and emissions equipment
Gasoline vs. Diesel Fuel Treatments
For Gasoline Engines: Our Gasoline Fuel Treatment is specifically formulated to maximize octane performance and fuel economy in gas engines.
For Diesel Engines: The Diesel Fuel Treatment improves cetane rating and prevents fuel gelling in cold weather while boosting MPG.
How Often Should You Use Fuel Boosters?
For best results, use fuel boosters consistently:
- Every fill-up: Maintains clean fuel system and consistent performance
- Preventive maintenance: Stops deposits before they form
- Long-term savings: Better MPG pays for the additive cost

I have a < 2.0L turbocharged 4 cyl in my 2018 Honda Accord, with its 10 speed transmission. I believe I was using your products on my wife’s and my 1992 2.0L Accords we purchased new (as I did the 2018). From what I JUST read in your blog, I should use a FULL BOTTLE of your fuel treatment with EVERY fill (my range on this paltry 14gal tank is functionally < 300miles in town).??? I AM using the oil treatment following oil changes, which seem to be annually – I put slightly over 6K miles annually.
